Basketball Decision Training

Mom & Dad after the game: "Why didn't you shoot those open shots?"

Young Me, shrugging like a confused emoji: "I dunno."

Old Me, 20 years later: "I was practicing the wrong way."

That summer I had taken 51,600 shots (https://bit.ly/50K-bball-shots) but I was neglecting one of the most important part of the game: "the decision to shoot!"

The decision to shoot is the unicorn of basketball practice—everyone talks about it, but no one does it. My mission is to zero-in on decision-making. Specifically, the decision to SHOOT, especially when you’re wide open and the universe is practically begging you to!

In addition to working on decision-making, I love to talk about and teach the mental part of the game. Missing shots is just part of basketball, and understanding that is crucial. We always focus on building confidence and resilience, so you're ready to take the shot every time, even if you miss a few along the way. And hey, it's okay to shoot air balls—they’re just your way of saying hello to the fans in the stands!

Basketball Decision Training is an important piece of the puzzle.  Knowing how to react without thinking requires 100's hours of game experience.  This process can be sped up through Basketball Decision Training.

Here is an example of a 1v1 game that teaches you to read your defender before you catch the ball.

Basketball Decision Trainer

Knowing that most Youth players practice on their own (1v0), I have created an app that allows them to perform Decision Training when they are working by themselves.
