Resistance/strength training with young basketball players is probably the single biggest bang for your buck. I would say that it is almost as important as playing basketball. If you are a weak basketball player then you are probably slow. There is a direct correlation with strength and speed at the youth level.
Year after year, there are players that are getting signifiant minutes on the court just because they are strong, fast and physical. A team does not need many scores on the court at a time. If you can move and defend well, then the coach will most likely find you minutes.
Invest time in your strength earlier in the process and this will transfer to speed, defense and minutes on the court.

This is a good cardio workout for players that are at home and don't have access to equipment. In addition, I recommend this workout for those that are just starting to work on their strength.
