In short, our nervous system is what determines how fast we are. Our workout should progress through exercises where speed is the most important to where speed is less important.
This is why we follow this order of exercise selections:
Base & Dynamic Warm-Up (Your body needs to be warm to perform at an optimal level.)
Technique (Running Form, Shooting Form)
Explosive Power/Speed (Plyometrics, sprints, should be done fresh)
Specialized Strength Exercises (Angles are closer to mimic sport)
General Strength Exercises
Conditioning
Cool Down & Stretching
